I suffered a loss, that could have destroyed everything I’ve built over some 30 years.<\/p>\n
In very bad shape emotionally,
\nI came to your back door
\nand asked for your help.<\/p>\n
You were busy and would not let me in.
\nYou kept me standing outside your back door while we talked
\nI heard people inside so I knew you were busy<\/p>\n
All that I had was on the line
\nif I could not solve the problem I came to you with
\nall would be lost for me<\/p>\n
I would not have come
\nif I saw some other alternative<\/p>\n
You went inside and came back giving me $40. and asked if that would help.
\nI thanked you, but did not take the money
\nit was not money I needed
\nit was help solving the problem<\/p>\n
You said you had company and were busy
\nI asked who
\nYou said your father and his family<\/p>\n
So I went away.<\/p>\n
My thoughts went way back
\nto when my daughter was just 4 years old
\nHer father and I separated
\nand eventually divorced<\/p>\n
One day,
\nin desperation
\nshortly after the separation
\nI went to him
\nbecause we were homeless
\nand on the street<\/p>\n
He was busy with his new ‘friend’
\nthey didn’t have time to deal with us
\nhe told me this was just like me
\npretending to have a problem
\nand he sent us away.<\/p>\n
Help came to us then
\nin the form of someone who always loved unconditionally
\nAnd gave unstintingly
\nout of the little she had
\nand she had very little<\/p>\n
so we survived<\/p>\n
and even thrived.<\/p>\n
