Racism, sexism and moneyism are horrendous problems in these United States. Clearly, some of the U. S. media succumbs constantly. The WSJ is the latest to do a horrendous, clearly racist and sexist article with no investigative reporting and no reason for such an article, which outlines for you why and how racism works; why is it so strong for so many generations; how African Americans – no matter how hard they work or how incredible the business ideas they surface and work hard to bring into existence, their hard work along with the hard work of women and other minorities finally winds up in the pockets of white-male-northern european types.
A recent article in the Wall Street Journal, for no reason except promoting Airb&b reads more like a marketing piece than a news piece.
The purpose of the article seems to put down in a respected media a made-up history of Airb&b trying to give once and for all the death knell to any claims that Bettina Network, inc. might have —-but God is good and always and forever on the side of the down trodden, the discriminated against, those who work and receive mud in the face for their good deeds while others just steal and seem to thrive, but my “Mama Marcy” used to say “their time is coming”.
This Wall Street Journal’s article’s existende seems to be to put one African American against another. Marceline Donaldson and Rev. Dr. Robert Bennett against ex-president Barack Obama. How awful.
What it actually does is gives us a look further into what happened after the Donaldson-Bennett’s worked so hard to build a corporation with a unique idea and were beginning to succeed establishing a corporation which made reservations for, marketed, collected from guests, etc. for those who traveled bed & breakfast instead of hotels, etc. The one thing they needed, but could never find was the money to grow the business at a faster clip with more substantial structuring. They reached the point of having homes, not only within the United States, but also in other countries. The business was moving very fast, however the money struggle was horrendous. And we are discovering horrendous because Venture Capitalists were not going to invest in a corporation run by African Americans no matter how great the concept and how good the rolling out of that concept was. Putting their resumes alongside each other, there is no parallel between Brian Chesky and Marceline Donaldson with her Harvard Business Scnool background. The Donaldson/Bennett’s African Americanism negated everything about them in the eyes of those investing. It ignored the work they were doing and their qualifications to take that work further as against those without even a fraction of the qualifications of the Bennett/Donaldsons.
Those running to support the concept rolled out as Airb&b didn’t have the guts to go against the society’s racist/sexist structure except as allowed by ones supporting them. A black who supports other blacks is not very high up in the eyes of most in this society. A black who allows himself to be the one who can be used to show that “I am not racist, my good friend is this black man not this other black couple so my money is going to these white men – under qualified and taking their ideas and the execution of those idea from the black couple, but hey – who is going to notice my extreme racism when I have this kind of African American ex-presidential cover.”
Who would have thought Elon Musk and all those other olks were involved and especially ex-president Barack Obama. He comes across as “wimpy”. But then – to do a Donald Trump thing – he has always come across as not being either willing or able to move decisively and stand up for what is right and just until others have shown it is “safe” to take such a stand. Instead, in this case and in others very similar, he takes the side of the white man to help him succeed at a heavy cost to black men and women along with African, Asian and others to keep himself moving forward. Isn’t that one of the reasons why racism, sexism and all the other isms have lived so lavishly in this society and show no signs of decreasing, but continuing its up and down future.?
From the Wall Street Journal article, Obama was clearly working with Brian Chesky and Airb&b to bring about the success of one – the white guy – at the expense of the other and this article “outs” him. While the Donaldson/Bennetts were trying to move ahead and grow their business – including many contacts to this wonderful ex-president asking for his business, he was – according to the Wall Street Journal article, – working with and for the success of Airb&b at the expense of Bettina Network, inc. He was not just being a client – he was, according to the article – working in a “free” advisory capacity to Brian Chesky and friends.
We have been researching for many years to discover what happened that life was so incredibly difficult for Bettina Network, inc. and the Donaldson/Bennett’s. At every turn they faced enormous problems including even recently as they are moving to bring Bettina Network, inc. back with a changed business model (which, by the way, Airb&b is claiming they are also doing and on an exact schedule just hours away from Bettina Network’s announcements).
We have come a long way putting the pieces together. It is not a pretty picture because the racism, sexism, “better than ism”, money-hunger without ethics, shows starkly. What is also relevant is that along the way as we were working to discover what and how the Donaldson/Bennetts were so trashed and their business almost decapitated, we discovered several other companies owned by Blacks, Africans, Latina’s and some Asians were also treated very similarly with their ideas, work, and more stolen as viciously and crudely as happened with Airb&b stealing its genesis and continuing life, even until today, by its founders and their hired help.
We started our research with the arrival of Brian Chesky and his two friends in Cambridge and being told about Bettina Network, inc. by The Capital Network, inc. – a City of Cambridge venture capital company – and having made reservations for them to stay, very specifically, at the home of the Donaldson/Bennett’s. What the Wall Street Journal article did for us was to open the door to look at the “before” the arrival in Cambridge and who was involved in all of this that we missed.
Appartently, Brian Chesky and his two friends were traveling the country from New York looking for businesses and business ideas they could take and use to start their own company. They, apparently, were not the only young white males doing that looking around thing. And most ended up with the funding, contacts and help from top corporate types working with them to establish the corporations they stole, except now in their names and under their structures.
We knew there were others doing the same thing at the same time, especially in and around MIT and being successful in their search as many minorities and all the hard work they were doing bit the dust – which when cleared – we understand and were told – there was Elon Musk standing in the midst – and – standing around him were the Silicon Valley billionaires who call themselves venture capitalists. We have another name for them, but since we don’t engage in Donald Trump’s rhetoric and name calling we will quietly demure from making those names public.
In history and in the literature moving forward our children will be told of the great entrepreneurs in the white male groups and look what they came up with, founded and brought into greatness. And they will be told either explicitly or by implications that other groups did not and could not come up with such greatness in business as did those white males. The real history that will be covered up will be the very racist and sexist way they were able to find, steal, develop and turn to the group promoting their theft for the venture capital money they needed to become the large, great corporations they have become on the backs of others.
The hard work, major sacrifices, experiences of being stolen from – of the minorities and women and yes, even sometimes white men who did not have their resources – will not be mentioned in history as these minorities are mauled, mutilated, destroyed while these few grew even wealthier on the backs of others.
It is time for major changes in these United States, particularly in the long, horrendous, evil of this kind of racist, sexist theft that has gone on for generations. We have many stories to tell and we hope you will work in your space to make sure all of this is exposed and stopped. We are continuing to investigate and will continue to publicize what we discover. We hope you will support and contribute to our effort – both with money, ideas, and information so a more complete picture evolves.
